The temptation to cease traveling, to hold fast to what we have and who we are, can be powerful. However, refusing to budge from the safe and known stifles our relationship with God and our ability to love more expansively. Pilgrimage spirituality challenges us to reach out to other people and, when we realize that our own resources are inadequate for the next mountain, to reach out for the always faithful hand of God.
